Kodaikanal also known as the queen/princess of hills. It is one of the most famous honeymoon spot in south india which resides in Tamilnadu state of India. Our team or rather group ride turned out superb as we enjoyed the beautiful scenery along the way with a beautiful homestay on a mountain, trees long enough to give you neck pain, foggy weather all around and a lot of gup shup as we enjoyed the bon fire in the chilly night.
It was a 2 day and 2 night ride trip as Kodaikanal is 488 KM from Bangalore, we decided to travel in the night. The roads are pretty good mostly highway except the last 2 hours which is curvy as hell and get you on a roller coaster ride.
We started at 12 AM in the night and were expecting to reach by 10 AM but there was a long queue at the RTO.
RTO added 1 hour and then our driver was feeling a bit sleepy so we again stopped for 1 hour and finally reached at 1 PM at our home stay which include our breakfast time.
After reaching we visited the famous spot Kodaikanal Lake which was not so clean but we still did boating which was fun.
we paid ~360 Rs (Will update If I recall) for half an hour on the boat of 4 people.
After the boating time we went for some munching but could find any good restro nearby and wasted a lot of time but meanwhile I got maggie to prepare in the night.
We had our dinner at dominos after trying at different place and left for our homestay.
Our homestay was all set to welcome us at bon fire, we got cozy with our gup shup and ended the day with dancing on the tunes of punjabi, marathi, hindi, english songs all in the mix.
Our day 2 started at 8 AM with the beautiful sunrise and quickly got ready and left at 11 AM morning so as to cover all the places.
Our first stop was Coaker’s walk which a beautiful walk near the mountain covered with fog. There were many options of munching along the walk and we enjoyed the walk.
After having tea at the end of Coaker’s walk, we walked along to capture some pix and called our traveller to pick us up for the next stop which was pillar rock view point.
The pillar rock view point was a very small view point but due to the foggy weather the pix came out great and we enjoyed, this is the same place where I forgot my backpack.
Next on our list was Pine Forest, which was looking very attractive with all the trees to me so we stopped, we enjoyed the most here due to our horse ride session, the horse was really fast unline other horse riding places and that made it so special that everyone from our team did that activity. The price for this was 120 Rupees for a small around which is a little steep but worth it.
Next we had to Guna Caves and it was a bit unexpected as all the caves were under our steps and there was no way we can get into one so basically we walked over the Guna Caves.
Finally I realised at this point that I forgot my backpact at the first location and that we had to go back, it was a one way road our driver hasisted but I was alreayd iritated enough and rudely told him to just go.
We took permission from one of the officer on the road and he informed the first location that someone is coming to get the backpack, as we drove everyone was looking at out vehicle as we were driving on the wrong side and we had to explain few persons while going.
We finally reached the place and it was really a relief to me as it had all the gopro camera accessories.
Finally we were on our way to Bangalore but before that we had to eat something so we stopped at a restro in kodaikanal only, it was the mistake that I made as I knew curves are going to start but I was so hungry that I had to eat as well.
I THREW UP! It was expected from the time I had my meal and it absolute clear when we started the ride but it was indeed a relief. We all slept in the vehicle while going as we were exhaused but the good part the driver did not stop and we reached Bangalore at 3 AM that is in 9 hours ONLY compared to the time he took to get us Kodaikanal.
